World Cup! Lewandowski Reveals Why Senegal Beat Poland 2 – 1

Poland’s forward, Robert Lewandowski has revealed why his country lost to Teranga Lions of Senegal.
Lewandowski said they lost due to their slow pace and lack of communications on the field of play.
Speaking with reporters after the match, Lewandowski said, “We played with no tempo or pace, very little communication. This kind of play is not effective.”
The Terranga Lions coached by former captain, Aliou Cisse, produced an impressive performance to defeat Poland 2-1 on Monday.
They took the lead eight minutes before the break, through a Thiago Cionek own goal.
Mbaye Niang pounced on a bouncing ball to double Senegal’s lead in the 60th minute.
Grzegorz Krychowiak pulled one back for the Poles, but it was not enough to avoid defeat in their first game of the tournament.

World Cup! NFF Set To Ban Our Super Eagles Players From Social Media

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has moved to curtail the use of social media by Super Eagles players during the 2018 World Cup.
First vice-president of the federation, Seyi Akinwunmi, is concerned that it has become a source of distraction for the players.
Team officials at the Eagles’ base camp in Essentuki have been told to address the issue ahead of Friday’s crucial clash against Iceland.
Some players were trolled on social media after Nigeria lost 2-0 to Croatia last Saturday and got involved in nasty exchanges with the fans.
“Personally, I don’t think that our players should react to people on Social Media,” Akinwunmi told journalists in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday.
“To the best of my knowledge, the issue has been addressed by those with the team in Essentuki (team base camp) and there’s no issue about that anymore.”

Missed The Game? Cheryshev & Dzyuba Score, Russia Thrash Egypt 3 – 1 (Watch)

Mohamed Salah’s penalty failed to save Egypt as World Cup hosts Russia all-but secured progression from Group A with a comprehensive 3-1 win in St Petersburg.
Making his first appearance since going off injured in the Champions League final on May 26, Salah was often on the periphery at the Krestovsky Stadium, but still managed to mark his World Cup debut with a consolation on 73 minutes.
However, the damage had already been done in a 15-minute blitz from Russia early in the second half, Ahmed Fathy’s own-goal opening the floodgates.
Russia took full advantage of the moment of good fortune, Denis Cheryshev and Artem Dzyuba netting in the space of three minutes to put Russia in complete control.
Despite his struggles, Salah was rewarded for his resilience when he was fouled by Roman Zobnin – VAR overturning the referee Enrique Caceres’s initial decision to award a free-kick on the edge of the area.
The Liverpool star duly converted from the spot but it could not kick-start a comeback, and while Russia’s place in the last 16 will be confirmed should Uruguay beat Saudi Arabia, Egypt look set to fall out at the first hurdle.

Missed The Game? Mbaye Niang Scores, Senegal Beat Poland 2 – 1 (Watch The Goals Highlight)

Poland midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak scored a goal but made a costly error as Senegal began their World Cup campaign with victory.
With Senegal ahead through a first-half own goal by Thiago Cionek, Krychowiak played a high, aimless backpass that striker M’Baye Niang controlled ahead of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny before tapping into an empty net.
Krychowiak pulled a goal back in the 86th minute with a header from Kamil Grosicki’s free-kick but Senegal held on.
Poland are the highest-ranked side in Group H at number eight in the world, but struggled to create further chances with a free-kick from captain Robert Lewandowski one of just four shots on target.
Senegal, making only their second World Cup appearance, join Japan – who beat Colombia earlier on Tuesday – on three points at the top of the group.
